Valentino, Chinese Red Wool Ottoman Jacket and Skirt
Title
Valentino, Chinese Red Wool Ottoman Jacket and Skirt
Description
Loose mid-thigh jacket and straight skirt in Chinese red wool Ottoman. Neck is wrapped in a standing band collar closed in a single button running through a thin fabric loop, and shoulders covered with a high yoke. One-piece sleeves are set in at the shoulder. Bodice is loose, as it is gathered and attached to the yoke, both at the front and the back of the garment. Along the side seam, from natural waist down to hemline, two deep panels are closed with four functioning buttonholes on each side. Hiding in the pleats at the front sit a vertical bound pocket. The entire garment is completely unlined, with all seams either bias-bound or French seamed.

Curator Notes
Excellent condition. Original garment labels are still visible and provide crucial information about the style and fabrication of the garment. At the time of writing, the skirt could not be described as it was missing from the rack. It might have been photographed with another look's skirt for a complete look and not belong to this actual jacket.
