Jean Patou, Black Damask Coat
Title
Jean Patou, Black Damask Coat
Description
Black, double-breasted mac coat with convertible collar, side bust darts, waist seam, and low side welt pockets. Front closure relies on three fabric-covered buttons set inbound buttonholes, along with one fabric-covered snap located on the waist seam. Shoulder seam is set slightly towards the front of the garment. Single-piece sleeves do not have buttons. Garment bodice borrows from men's jacket construction with a side-panel bridging front and back, but the side-panel is itself divided in a front and a back panel. Back skirting is cut with one slit overlapping slit running from the waist.
