Fair condition. Silk taffeta has shattered. Also a possibility of sleeves later added to garment as evidenced by the type of material and ornamentation. Additionally, sleeves are distorting the upper portion of the gown. Wrinkles have been released as much as possible without damaging garment.

Fair condition. Taffeta material has shattered due to stains. Two buttons missing from bodice. Wrinkles have been released as much as possible without damaging garment. Evidence of garment having been re-made due to unpicked seams throughout skirt and trim. It is possible an older, outdated garment was taken apart and re-made into this bodice and skirt ensemble, following a common practice of the time.

Good condition. Stains on all three pieces of the garment. Evidence of seams let out on bodice to possibly accomodate the growth of the wearer and two buttons are missing from bodice. Wrinkles have been released as much as possible without damaging garment. Bustles from 1870s have been placed under skirt to create correct shape. Ensemble belonged to Elizabeth Brown's grandparents.
